Roma have officially parted company with Guido Fienga and appointed Pietro Berardi as the new club corporate CEO and director general from January 2022.

There were reports this afternoon that Fienga had decided to leave the club, or rather was pushed out by the Friedkin family, who are looking to restructure the club’s hierarchy.

The announcement arrived this evening, that Fienga and Roma had decided to terminate their agreement by mutual consent.

He had been working for the Giallorossi since 2013, although as a CEO he was appointed in 2019.

In the same meeting today, Roma announced they brought Pietro Berardi into the board of administration, and he will become Corporate CEO and director general from January 2022.

His presence as the new title of Corporate CEO suggests Roma are indeed trying to break away from the combination of business and sporting personnel.

The idea is to leave transfer strategy, sporting choices and the on-pitch matters in the hand of one chief and the business end going to another.
