Roma announced that defender Gianluca Mancini has signed a five-year contract extension.

The 26-year-old joined the Giallorossi from Atalanta in 2019, initially on loan, before the deal was made permanent for โ‚ฌ13 million a year later.

Manciniโ€™s contract extension will keep him at the club until 2027.

Coming through the Fiorentina academy, Mancini moved to Perugia in Serie B, where he made his debut in 2015.

In all made 30 appearances over two seasons before moving to Atalanta.

He played 11 times in Serie A during his first campaign with La Dea but become more of a regular in his second season with 30 appearances as Atalanta clinched qualification for the Champions League for the first time in their history.

However, that summer Mancini moved to Roma initially on loan. In his three season with the Giallorossi, he has made 128 appearances and scored seven goals. He started the Europa Conference League final win over Feyenoord in May.

Mancini has nine Italy caps, making his debut in 2019.
