Emiliano Rigoni has officially returned to Zenit St Petersburg after the winger’s loan spell at Atalanta was terminated.
Rigoni joined Atalanta on loan with a €15m option to buy last summer and scored a brace against Roma on his Serie A debut, before claiming he rejected Juventus.
However, the Argentine went on to start just five more times and was dropped from the squad completely for games against Juve and Sassuolo.

“I’m happy to return here,” the 25-year-old told Zenit’s official website.
“I understand that this is another chance for me and I hope I can use it. Serie A is a fairly strong League.
“I feel that I have developed both technically and physically. There is a slightly different game system [and] I played at a slightly different position compared to Zenit.
“I feel like a more valuable football player compared to [my] first Zenit [spell].”
