SPAL have officially appointed Massimo Rastelli as the club’s new head coach to replace sacked Pasquale Marino.

The Biancazzurri’s 3-0 defeat to Pisa left them with a risk of losing out on the play-off to Serie A and Marino lost his job as a consequence of the poor run of results.

The club has confirmed former Cagliari coach Rastelli succeeds Marino and will lead the Serie B side for the remaining three months of the campaign, with an automatic renewal in the event of promotion to the top flight.
