Andrea Ranocchia and Danilo D’Ambrosio have officially signed new contracts holding them to Inter until June 2022.

The club made the announcement this evening, although the decision had been made last week.

Ranocchia is 33 years old and made only nine competitive appearances for Inter this season, but he has been at San Siro since 2011 – with some loan spells at Sampdoria and Hull City – making him a non-playing captain in the locker room.

It is that presence which convinced the Nerazzurri and new coach Simone Inzaghi to retain his services.

D’Ambrosio turns 33 in September and impressed with his versatility, able to play as a right-back, on the right of midfield or as a centre-back.

He joined Inter from Torino in January 2014 and made a key contribution to the Scudetto victory, scoring three goals in 19 Serie A appearances this season.

These were winners in the 4-3 result with Fiorentina, the 2-0 away to Genoa and 3-1 success at Cagliari.
