The 26-year-old Sweden international had been in Italy since 2005 at Hellas Verona and then Bologna.
“Rangers are delighted to announce the signing of Swedish defender Filip Helander from Bologna, subject to international clearance,” read a statement.

The 26-year-old Sweden international had been in Italy since 2005 at Hellas Verona and then Bologna.
“Rangers are delighted to announce the signing of Swedish defender Filip Helander from Bologna, subject to international clearance,” read a statement.
He signed a four-year contract after making 23 competitive appearances for Bologna last season.
“I am delighted to be joining Rangers, it’s a special club with tremendous fans and a unique history,” Helander told the official club website.
“The opportunity to work with a manager like Steven Gerrard was an easy decision to make.”
