Ivan Provedel has officially signed for Lazio after completing a definitive transfer from Spezia.

The 28-year-old Italian goalkeeper impressed last season for the Ligurian side, standing out with his comfort on the ball and above average shot stopping ability. The Roman club had been in talks with Spezia for a number of weeks now, identifying Provedel as a suitable fit for Maurizio Sarri’s fluid system in Rome.

As announced by Lazio, Provedel has joined the club in a definitive transfer from Spezia. Media reports suggest that the Italian goalkeeper signed a five-year deal, worth around €1.2-1.3m net per season, and the Ligurians received around €2.5m plus add-ons.

Lazio were forced to sign two goalkeepers this summer following the departures of Thomas Strakosha and Pepe Reina. Provedel is joining Luis Maximiano, who signed from Granada earlier in the window. Both players have a shot at becoming the number one in Rome, so Sarri will have to see which player adapts better to his system.
