Sassuolo have officially signed Andrea Pinamonti from Inter at a cost of circa €20m, on loan with obligation to buy.

A formal statement from the Neroverdi confirms it is a loan deal with obligation to make it permanent at the end of the season.

Once that is activated, he has signed a contract with Sassuolo that is valid until June 2027.

According to Sportitalia, there is no buy-back option for Inter in the deal, but nor is there a release clause, as it had been reported that would be set at €30m.

The centre-forward is a product of the Nerazzurri youth academy and has been sent out on various loan experiences at Frosinone, Genoa and Empoli.

Last season, the 23-year-old found the net 13 times in 36 Serie A appearances for Empoli, helping them to a mid-table finish.

He had also been courted this summer by Atalanta, Monza, Salernitana and more, but considered Sassuolo the most ambitious option.

Pinamonti is effectively the replacement for Gianluca Scamacca, who was sold to West Ham United for €36m plus €6m in bonuses and 10 per cent of the sell-on fee.
