Parma defender Giuseppe Pezzella has officially joined Atalanta on a temporary deal with an option to buy.

La Dea had been linked with a move for Juventus‘ defender Gianluca Frabotta, but have signed Pezzella instead.

Both clubs have announced the transfer of the Italian defender on their official websites.

“Parma Calcio 1913 can announce that the club has reached an agreement with Atalanta Bergamasca Calcio for the loan of Giuseppe Pezzella until 30/06/2022 with an option to purchase the player outright upon the occurrence of certain conditions,” Parma’s statement reads.

Pezzella, 23, played 48 games in two seasons at the Stadio Tardini.

“I am very proud to have joined such a prestigious club as Atalanta,” Pezzella told Atalanta’s official website.

“I can’t wait to take to the pitch.

“I am a humble and open guy, I really love my family and football,” he continued.

“I think Atalanta has been a perfect machine over the last few years, thanks to the club and the coach. It is the outcome of the hard work of many people, you have to work hard to get these results.”
