As expected, Olympique Marseille have officially agreed terms for Roma goalkeeper Pau Lopez, on loan with option to buy.

The deal was announced by the Ligue 1 side this afternoon.

It is currently pending a medical and Roma have now given Marseille permission to discuss personal terms with the player.

The loan with €12m option to buy will become an obligation once Pau Lopez makes at least 20 competitive appearances for Marseille.

He cost €23.5m to sign from Real Betis in 2019, but failed to make much of an impact at the Stadio Olimpico and went under the knife to resolve a shoulder injury in April.

He is not the only one making that move, as Cengiz Under is also going to Marseille on loan from Roma with option to buy at the end of the season.

Roma will replace Pau Lopez with Portugal international goalkeeper Rui Patricio, who arrives from Wolverhampton Wanderers.
