Fabio Pecchia is officially the new coach of Serie B side Parma, having left Cremonese after securing their promotion.

The 48-year-old tactician was announced by patron Kyle Krause this evening.

Pecchia had been the assistant manager to Rafa Benitez at Napoli, Real Madrid and Newcastle United before branching out on his own at Hellas Verona from 2016 to 2018.

There was a very brief experience at Avispa Fukuoka, then he was on the Juventus Under-23 team bench before helping Cremonese to a shock promotion by finishing second in Serie B this season.

Nonetheless, he decided to walk away from Cremonese this summer, feeling he had taken the club as far as he could.

Pecchia will now try again to gain promotion, this time at Gigi Buffon’s Parma.
