Palermo have officially fired Coach Bruno Tedino and appointed Roberto Stellone, even though they are second in the Serie B table.
The decision was made following last night’s 3-0 defeat to Venezia.
President Maurizio Zamparini had hinted at a change of management with a statement on the club website this morning.
“With the team seen yesterday, we’re not going anywhere. I didn’t sleep all night and am reflecting on the decisions to make. It’s not possible to face the final games or even the play-offs in this situation.

“Yesterday was a fundamental step, but unlike the match against Empoli, we lost without even putting up a fight. The team is the image of its Coach and I am reflecting carefully. At this moment, it looks as if the team doesn’t have the strength to fight and has no faith in its leader.
“I am still reflecting on this situation and ask the fans for patience. I didn’t expect it, this was our worst performance of the season, with no character.
“It won’t be easy, but we’ll fight to get promotion.”
Stellone is best known for taking Frosinone to promotion from Lega Pro to the top flight in 2015.
