Former Italy striker Dani Osvaldo has officially come out of retirement to sign for Argentine side Banfield.

Banfield announced last night that Osvaldo had put pen to paper on a contract until the end of the season.

The 33-year-old retired from professional football in 2016 to focus on music and later appeared on the Italian version of Dancing with the Stars.

Although born in Argentina, he spent the majority of his playing career in Italy with Lecce, Fiorentina, Roma, Juventus and Inter.

He also scored four goals in 14 caps for the Azzurri.
