Fiorentina have officially confirmed the signing of M’Bala Nzola on a permanent transfer from Spezia.

Multiple sources including Sky Sport Italia and Sportitalia have previously reported that the fee for Nzola stands at €12m.

The 26-year-old has had plenty of interest from a number of sides across Europe this summer, including the likes of West Ham, Roma and Torino, but he believes that Fiorentina will offer him the most playing time.

There will also be another reunion for Nzola with coach Vincenzo Italiano, with the two having worked together at both Trapani and Spezia in years gone by.

Nzola put in a near-heroic shift for Spezia over the course of 2022-23, chipping in with 13 goals from 31 Serie A appearances. Including assists, he was involved in just shy of 50% of the goals that the club scored in the league last season.

Ultimately, Spezia were demoted to Serie B following their loss in the relation play-off against Hellas Verona in June.

Nzola becomes Fiorentina’s second signing of the day, following the arrival of goalkeeper Oliver Christensen from Hertha Berlin on Thursday morning.

As well as Nzola’s signing, Fiorentina are reported to still be working on a deal to bring in Lucas Beltran from River Plate.
