Torino have brought Nicolas Nkoulou back from the cold after accepting the defender’s apology.

Nkoulou informed Torino his head had not been in the right place after they refused to let him join Roma, resulting in the 29-year-old missing their first two Serie A games, but the pair have now found peace.

“Today the time has come to close this controversy once and for all,” he told the club’s official website.

“In order to be able to do better than last season, we must all stick together for the same purpose.

“We must be focused on the same cause. We must be determined to reach our objective so that the fans are proud of us, writing together a new page in the history of Torino FC.

“For that reason, I decided to leave the difficult moments of this summer behind to go on without hesitation.

“I have to bring my brick to build the house because the competition will be tough. For this reason, it’s necessary that I apologise if my behaviour was misinterpreted, if I upset or offended my fans, teammates, Coach, staff and directors at Torino FC.

“I’m sorry, but that wasn’t my intent. Forza Toro!”

The Granata added: “Taking note of the words and repentance of Nicolas Nkoulou, the club – in agreement with Coach Walter Mazzarri – accepts the player’s apology.

“Nkoulou, therefore, will return to training with his teammates on Tuesday September 17.”
