Napoli reveal their striker Giacomo Raspadori has suffered a muscle strain and will undergo medical examinations in the coming days.
The Italy international sustained a muscle injury during his morning training session at Castel Volturno, Napoli said in an official statement.
“The Napoli squad completed a morning training session on Tuesday as they look ahead to Friday’s fixture with Sassuolo, kicking off at 20:45 CET from the Mapei Stadium in Matchday 23 of Serie A,” said the Partenopei.
“The session got underway with a warm-up and possession exercises. This was followed by a training match on a small pitch, before concluding with tactical drills.
“Giacomo Raspadori was forced to end the session early after suffering a muscle strain. He will undergo some tests in the coming days.”
The Partenopei will face Raspadori’s former club Sassuolo on Friday before visiting Eintracht Frankfurt in the first leg of the Champions League Round of 16 on February 21.
