Napoli have officially signed Hamed Junior Traore from Bournemouth, filling the winger’s contract to Lega Serie A.

The 23-year-old winger has joined the Partenopei on a six-month loan deal with a €25m buy option attached. If the clause isn’t activated, the Italian side will have to pay a loan fee. He underwent his medicals in the Campania capital on Tuesday before putting pen to paper on his contract.

Traore struggled for consistent playing time with Bournemouth in the first half of this season, seeing just 181 minutes of action across six matches. He scored in an EFL Cup win over Swansea back in August.

Gianluca Di Marzio confirmed that Napoli had officially submitted Traore’s contract to Lega Serie A today, confirming his status as a new Partenopei player. He isn’t expected to join the squad for their Supercoppa Italiana commitments in Saudi Arabia, giving him a little time to start settling in.

The Ivorian winger initially emerged as an exciting youngster with Sassuolo, where he scored 18 goals and provided 13 assists across 140 Serie A matches. He never managed to find his footing in the Premier League after joining Bournemouth last year, being played in a deeper position.
