Midfielder Tanguy Ndombele has officially completed his transfer from Tottenham to Napoli, joining the Campania outfit on a loan deal with a buy option attached.

The Partenopei have been in talks with Spurs for the last few weeks trying to iron out a deal for the 25-year-old French midfielder, keen to add him to their squad amid Paris Saint-Germain’s interest in Fabian Ruiz. Ndombele is looking to relaunch his career after a difficult season in North London with Tottenham, where he’s never really lived up to his €60m price tag.

Ndombele has signed for Napoli on a season-long loan deal with a buy option attached, reported to be in the region of around €32.5m. The loan itself is understood to have cost around €500,000.

The Frenchman failed to convince coach Antonio Conte last season and so returned to Lyon on loan in the January transfer window. He returned to North London last month, but it soon became clear that he wasn’t a part of the project under the Italian coach.
