Napoli have officially announced the signing of midfielder Jens Cajuste on a permanent deal from Ligue 1 side Stade Reims.

The Sweden international, who is also celebrating his 24th birthday today, has signed a five-year deal with the Partenopei, which will run until the summer of 2028.

It is believed that Napoli have had to pay somewhere in the region of €12m to secure the Sweden international’s services.

On Thursday afternoon, Napoli President Aurelio De Laurentiis shared a picture to his official social media channels alongside Cajuste, who was posing over his recently signed contract. An official was posted to Napoli’s club website around the same time.

Cajuste came through the youth ranks at Orgryte in his hometown of Gothenburg, before joining Midtjylland in 2018. He would stay there for four seasons before securing a move to France last summer.

Over the course of the last season, Cajuste made 31 league appearances for Reims, contributing with three goals along the way.

It is expected that he will serve as the replacement for Tanguy Ndombele at Napoli, who returned to Tottenham following the expiry of his loan deal at the end of 2022-23.
