Napoli confirmed a second-degree lesion in Victor Osimhen’s right femoral bicep, but the Nigeria international has already begun his recovery program.

Osimhen was forced off the pitch in Napoli’s 4-1 win over Liverpool on Wednesday night.

He hadn’t trained with the rest of the group in the two days before the match but was still included in the starting XI as he seemed to have recovered from a minor muscle injury.

The 23-year-old underwent medical examinations in the morning which highlighted a second-degree lesion in his right femoral bicep.

Napoli confirmed that the player has already begun treatment.

The Partenopei failed to reveal the striker’s recovery time, but Osimhen won’t be available again for Napoli until the September break and according to Calciomercato.com, he could remain out of action for up to five weeks.
