Official: Napoli loan Cheddira to Frosinone

Napoli have officially brought in Morocco international Walid Cheddira from their sister club Bari and loaned him to Frosinone.

The news was confirmed via a statement released this afternoon and it is a dry loan until the end of the season, so without an option to buy.

The 25-year-old was born in Italy, but plays his international football for Morocco and played in the 2022 World Cup campaign that saw them finish fourth in Qatar.

He earned his place in the squad thanks to performances in Serie B for Bari, where last term he scored 17 goals and provided seven assists in 31 games.

Bari and Napoli are both owned by the De Laurentiis family and therefore regularly exchange players between them.

Cheddira has therefore been purchased by Napoli and immediately sent on loan to Frosinone, where he will make his Serie A debut.

Frosinone began their campaign yesterday in a 3-1 home defeat to Napoli.
