Napoli have finally announced what has been known for months, that former Juventus youth team chief Giovanni Manna is their new director of sport.

The decision had been made in early 2024, but had to wait until now so that he could extricate himself from the Juventus contract.

This evening, Napoli released a statement confirming that he has been appointed their new director of sport.

Manna has been with Napoli for months

It was purely a formality, as Manna has been working closely with President Aurelio De Laurentiis for weeks on building the new squad for next season.

Sportitalia transfer expert Alfredo PedullĂ  even reported that it was Manna who met personally with new coach Antonio Conte in April.

Curiously, he replaces Cristiano Giuntoli, who had left Napoli for Juventus a year ago.

The new director turns 36 in July and had worked previously at Forli, FC Chiasso and FC Lugano before moving to Juventus in 2019, where he specialised in the youth academy.
