Napoli confirm Andrea Petagna has joined Monza on loan with an obligation to buy ‘under certain conditions.’

The Italy international underwent his medical with the Brianzoli this morning (VIDEO) and the Azzurri have now confirmed his departure.

“Petagna is a new Monza player. The striker arrives from Napoli on a one-year loan with an obligation to buy under certain conditions.”

Monza have paid €2.5m for the player’s loan until 2023 and will pay an extra €10m plus €1.5m add-ons if they avoid relegation to Serie B in their first-ever campaign in Italy’s top flight.

The Partenopei will look to Verona star Giovanni Simeone to replace the product of Milan academy.

  1. Oh Petagna, what a waste of talent. Like a lot of Italys current strikers, he has the physical attributes to be a goal machine but Luca Toni he ain’t.
