Official: Monza sign ex-Inter man D’Ambrosio

Monza have officially signed defender Danilo D’Ambrosio as a free agent after his contract with Inter was allowed to expire.

The versatile player turns 35 next month and can work as a right-back, a more advanced right wing-back or a central defender.

He has put pen to paper on a one-year contract, which includes an option to extend to June 2025 if certain conditions are met.

Born in Naples, D’Ambrosio spent time in the Salernitana and Fiorentina youth academies, making his real step up to the big time during nine years at Torino.

There was a move to Inter in January 2014 and that too lasted nine years before his contract ran down on June 30.

D’Ambrosio has 268 Serie A appearances with 21 goals and has six senior caps for Italy.

He reunites with fellow former Inter player Roberto Gagliardini, who also joined Monza as a free agent this summer, while Valentin Carboni is on loan from the Nerazzurri.
