Serie B side Monza, owned by former Milan President Silvio Berlusconi, have officially signed Carlos Augusto from Corinthians.
It is a prestigious purchase for the team that was just promoted to Serie B from Italy’s third division.
According to Globoesporte, the deal is worth €4m, but Monza have only bought 40 per cent of the full-back’s rights.
That means any future sale would see Corinthians earn over half the sell-on fee.

Carlos Augusto was able to sign for the Serie B side, as he has an Italian passport, so does not take up a non-EU spot in the squad.
It’s reported the 21-year-old flew to Italy on August 20, and after several days of negotiations and a medical, he officially signed for Monza.
