Vincenzo Montella has officially signed a two-year contract as the new coach of Mario Balotelli’s club Adana Demirspor.

The former Fiorentina, Milan, Sampdoria, Roma and Sevilla tactician flew into Istanbul on Tuesday for face-to-face negotiations.

He agreed personal terms today and put pen to paper on the deal until June 2023.

Montella was brought in to replace coach Samet Aybaba, who was fired after failing to win any of the first three Turkish Super League games this season.

President Murat Sancak had told reporters that Fenerbahce also wanted to sign Montella.

The Italian will now be working with Balotelli, who joined Demirspor this summer as a free agent.

Montella is now 47 years old and his most recent job was at Fiorentina, lasting just 26 competitive matches from April 2019 to December 2019.

Before that, he was fired by Sevilla just 28 games into his tenure in April 2018.

Milan sacked him in November 2017 and his contract with Sampdoria came to a natural conclusion in June 2016.
