As expected, it is now official that Luka Modric has signed a new contract keeping him with Milan until June 2027, after he had become a free agent.
The midfielder went into the 2026 World Cup with Croatia technically without a club, because his previous deal had expired on June 30.

He had wanted to wait until the tournament was over to decide not only whether to remain with the Rossoneri, but also to continue his playing career.
Modric committed to Milan adventure
The Ballon d’Or winner is set to turn 41 in September and came to the Rossoneri last summer as a free agent after 13 years playing for Real Madrid.
Modric had always confessed to supporting Milan since childhood, when he watched fellow countrymen like Zvonimir Boban playing at San Siro.
He made a real impact in his first season, scoring two goals and providing three assists in 37 competitive appearances.
Notably, 32 of those were in the starting XI, and it would’ve been more if he hadn’t fractured his cheekbone during an accidental clash of heads with Juventus player Manuel Locatelli.
Modric will continue to wear the Number 14 jersey for Milan this season under new coach Ruben Amorim.
