Daniel Maldini has officially completed his loan move to Spezia for one season, temporarily ending the Maldini family’s bond with Milan.
A statement from the Rossoneri confirmed it is a dry loan, so will only last for one season without an option to buy.
The 20-year-old creative midfielder is the son of director Paolo Maldini and grandson of Milan legend Cesare Maldini.
He becomes the first member of this Calcio family to play for a Serie A club other than the Diavolo since Cesare retired at Torino in 1967.
Daniel also has a brother, Christian, who is currently playing in Serie C with Pro Sesto and never made his top flight debut.
Daniel Maldini has made 15 Serie A appearances so far in his career, scoring one goal, which curiously enough was against his new club Spezia in September 2021.
