Milan have officially announced the signing of Marco Pellegrino on a permanent transfer from Argentinian outfit Club Atletico Platense.

The highly-touted defender has put pen to paper on a five-year contract, which will run until the summer of 2028.

According to recent reports from Sky Sport Italia, the Rossoneri are believed to have paid an initial fee of €3.5m to bring the 21-year-old to San Siro, as well as having agreed to pay up to €2m in bonuses plus 10% of any future sell-on.

Pellegrino will wear the number 31 for his first season in Milan.

Platense is the only club Pellegrino has represented thus far in his career, graduating from the club’s academy to make his first team debut in March of this year. He has since gone on to make 17 appearances for the senior side, scoring one goal in the process.

Pellegrino joins a long list of players to have made the switch to Milan this summer, which also includes Marco Sportiello, Luca Romero, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Christian Pulisic, Tijjani Reijnders, Noah Okafor, Samuel Chukwueze and Yunus Musah.
