Junior Messias has completed his transfer from Crotone to Milan, on loan with option to buy for a total €8m plus bonuses, and he will wear the Number 30 jersey.

It’s a dream come true for the 30-year-old Brazilian, who only made his Serie A debut last season and until recently had been supplementing his income by delivering washing machines.

The details of the transfer are a loan for €2.6m with option to buy for another €5.4m plus bonuses.

Attacking midfielder Messias scored nine goals and provided four assists in 36 Serie A appearances for Crotone last term, but was unable to prevent their relegation.

He had been at Crotone since 2019, helping them achieve promotion from Serie B to the top flight.

Messias will retain the Number 30 jersey that he also wore at the Stadio Scida last term.

His contract has been registered with the Lega Serie A under an hour from the transfer deadline.

  1. The guy until very recently worked with washing machine deliveries and now he’s going to play for Milan… AC MILAN? I’m really speechless… this can’t be serious, I’m the middle of some surrealistic italian movie commedy!

    What happened with my rossonero???
What happened with Serie A, in fact???

  2. Maybe he did not have the luck to become pro when he was younger.
So he had to take care of his family by working hard.
Its not like he touched a ball for the first time when he was 25.

  3. Harrison Ford was a carpenter and he went on to become Han Solo. Got to use the force from time to time.

  4. Ok, you can play and crack all the jokes that you want, or maybe get emotional with this schmaltzy and corny Cinderella style fairy tale, but the fact is that Milan, yes, AC MILAN, not Spezia, Salernitana or Sassuolo, signed a 30-year-old player who was practically an AMATEUR until four years ago. Meanwhile a club that was born the day before yesterday (PSG) has signed half of Olympus, and a team that in its 754 years of existence has as its most important title a solitary edition of the now defunct Cup Winners’ Cup signs players of the status of Romelu Lukaku and Jack Grealish. An AC Milan shoul and must be proud and ambitious, for Chrissake!

Yeah Yeah, I know: it’s obviously not Maldini, Massara & Co.’s fault, it’s a series of factors and circumstances that go far beyond their will and determination, involving a series of historical reasons that obviously are not discussed here. However, none of this prevents the feeling of frustration from being immense and damn inevitable. Well, at least we have a good team, which started the season playing very well, keeping the same pace as the final stretch of 2020/21.

Anyway… let’s see what will happen.
