Milan have officially sold winger Samu Castillejo to Gennaro Gattuso’s Valencia.

The Spaniard flew in this morning for a medical and completed the transfer, which was a sale for a minimal fee plus performance-related bonuses.

There had been early suggestions he would terminate his contract by mutual consent first and move as a free agent, but that is not the case.

Castillejo has signed a three-year contract at the Mestalla to June 2025.

Milan also released a statement thanking him for “the professionalism and commitment shown” during his time at San Siro.

The 27-year-old had joined the Rossoneri from Villarreal in the summer of 2018 at a cost of €21.3m, after coming through the Malaga youth academy.

He made 113 competitive appearances in the Milan jersey, scoring 10 goals and providing 15 assists.

  1. @as com is even setup a go find me and pay him to go to Valencia. Unfortunately he was very múch a bit part player and took up space and wages. No club wanted to pay the few million as they knew it was probably a gamble.

I like Castillejo but definitely not Serie A champions quality.!
