Mike Maignan has been officially added to Milan’s Champions League squad, giving them a key boost ahead of their Round of 16 second leg with Tottenham.

The 27-year-old Frenchman was initially a part of the squad at the start of this season but was removed after suffering a recurring calf injury, which forced him to the sidelines for around five months.

Maignan made his return for Milan in their 2-0 win over Atalanta at the end of last month and also played the full 90 minutes of their 2-1 defeat to Fiorentina on the weekend.

As highlighted by Calciomercato.com, UEFA have confirmed that Maignan has been registered to the Milan squad for the Champions League, allowing them to deploy the Frenchman in the upcoming Round of 16 second lag clash with Tottenham.

Making space for the 27-year-old is backup option Ciprian Tatarusanu, who has now been removed from the squad. Completing the goalkeeper department in the squad is Antonio Mirante and the three youngsters on the B list – Andrea Bartoccioni, Lapo Nava and Fotios Psefts.
