Marco Pellegrino has officially joined Salernitana on loan from Milan until the end of the season.

The two clubs have confirmed the deal through their official websites and social media accounts.

“AC Milan announces that Marco Pellegrino has signed for US Salernitana on loan until 30 June 2024. The Club wishes Marco a great second half of the season,” the Rossoneri said in an official statement.

Pellegrino, 21, will be coached by Rossoneri legend Filippo Inzaghi at the Stadio Arechi, joining one of Salernitana’s biggest January signings, ex-Bayern Munich star Jerome Boateng.

Pellegrino signed for Milan on a permanent transfer from Platense last summer in a €3.5m deal.

He had made just one Serie A appearance with the Rossoneri in 2023-24 before sustaining an ankle injury that kept him out of action for more than two months.

The versatile Argentinean defender played two games with Milan’s Primavera team in January prior to his return to action at a senior level. He will return to San Siro at the end of the season.

His contract at the Stadio Meazza runs out in June 2028.
