Milan announced that attacking midfielder Junior Messias has completed a permanent move to the club.

The news had been speculated throughout the week and was made official on Thursday.

Messias joined from Crotone in 2021 on a season-long loan with the option to buy. He has signed a two-year contract which expires in 2024.

The news continues the Brazilian’s fairy tale rise which saw him plying his trade in Serie D as recently as 2019, where he had to supplement his income by delivering washing machines.

Messias scored 15 goals during his two seasons with Crotone to earn a move to the Rossoneri.

His first goal for Milan was the winner at Atetico Madrid in the Champions League group stage, which represented their only victory in the tournament of the campaign.

In all, he made 26 Serie A appearances and scored five goals, including two in a 3-0 win over Genoa, during Milan’s title victory last season.
