Lazio have officially announced that star midfielder Luis Alberto has penned a new four-year contract with the club.

The 31-year-old Spaniard has been with the Biancocelesti since August 2016, joining in a low-cost deal from Liverpool. Since his arrival, he’s grown into one of the most important and defining players at the club, playing a key role in their Coppa Italia and two Supercoppa Italiana victories.

Luis Alberto has been no stranger to controversy and transfer market rumours during his seven years in the Italian capital, but despite that is still a fan favourite and key player at Lazio.

As announced today, Luis Alberto has now officially signed a new four-year contract, tying him to Lazio until June 2027. In the announcement video, he quipped: “I solemnly swear that I’m up to no good”, referencing his nickname ‘the Magician’ and the Harry Potter series.

The Spanish midfielder has played every available minute for Lazio this season, scoring two goals and providing two assists across 720 minutes of action.
