Hellas Verona have officially announced the transfer of Matteo Lovato to Atalanta for €8m plus €3m in bonuses.

The defender moves on a permanent deal to the Gewiss Stadium, but the Gialloblu must then pay 15 per cent of the amount to Padova, who then must share with Genoa, where Lovato started his career.

Lovato underwent the medical examinations yesterday and signed a four-year contract with an option of a fifth year at Zingonia.

The 21-year-old has played 25 Serie A games since joining Verona.
