Napoli midfielder Stanislav Lobotka has extended his contract at the Stadio Maradona until June 2027, the Partenopei confirmed.

The Slovakia international signed a new two-year deal with the Serie A leaders. His previous contract was due to expire in 2025.

“SSC Napoli is delighted to announce that Stanislav Lobotka has extended his contract with the club until 30 June 2027 with an option for an additional year until 30 June 2028,” Napoli confirmed with an official statement.

Lobotka joined Napoli from Celta Vigo for €21m in January 2020 and has played 97 games with the Partenopei, becoming a regular starter under Luciano Spalletti.

During his latest interview with Il Corriere dello Sport on Tuesday, he confirmed that he had thought about leaving the club during Gennaro Gattuso’s tenure due to his lack of playing time.

The Partenopei will face Eintracht Frankfurt in the second leg of the Champions League Round of 16 on Wednesday after a 2-0 win in Germany in the first leg.
