Parma have officially sacked coach Fabio Liverani and Roberto D’Aversa seems set for a return to the Ennio Tardini.

The Ducali, who are 18th in Serie A after the 3-0 defeat to Atalanta on Wednesday, announced the former Lecce coach’s departure on their official website.

“Parma Calcio 1913 announce that Fabio Liverani has been relieved of his post as coach of the first team,” the statement said.

President Kyle Krause confirmed on Twitter that the Crociati has decided to ‘part ways’ with the coach.

“This morning, we informed Fabio Liverani that we've decided to part ways with him as our coach,” Krause wrote. “I want to express my deepest gratitude to Fabio for his hard work & leadership.

“This season has been difficult but Parma are fighters. We move onwards.”

Reports in Italy suggests D’Aversa will return to the club, as he is already contractually tied to the Crociati until June 2022.
