Las Palmas have confirmed that defender Mauricio Lemos will join Sassuolo on Tuesday.

A statement on Las Palmas’ official website explains “an agreement in principle” has been struck for Lemos to sign for Sassuolo.

Consequently, the Uruguayan will travel to Emilia-Romagna on Monday afternoon, before undergoing a medical with the Neroverdi the following morning.

The islanders also confirmed the 22-year-old was leaving on loan, although there was no mention of whether the deal included an option to buy for Sassuolo.

Lemos joined Las Palmas from Rubin Kazan in January 2016 and went on to make 62 appearances for the Spaniards, reportedly attracting interest from Barcelona at one point
