Lecce have officially signed former Bayer Leverkusen right-back Giulio Donati on a free transfer, as he had been without a club since the summer.
Donati came through the youth system at Inter, but failed to make any appearances for the Nerazzurri.
He was sent on numerous loan spells, first to Lecce in 2010-11, then to Padova and Grosseto before joining German side Bayer Leverkusen in 2013.
Donati played 43 times for Leverkusen in the Bundesliga before moving to Mainz in the summer of 2016.

He played 81 times, but was released by the club last summer after his contract expired.
Donati had been training with the Giallorossi for the last several weeks in the hope of winning a contract.
Today he inked a six month deal, with an option for another season.
The right-back will turn 30 next February.
