Lazio released a statement confirming the transfer embargo has been removed after an influx of fresh capital, so expect Toma Basic to arrive from Girondins de Bordeaux.

The club had not even registered the existing five players they had signed this summer, because there was no liquidity in the Aquile coffers.

They had been waiting to sell Joaquin Correa in order to raise funds for other transfers, but that has still not happened.

In the end, President Claudio Lotito had to personally inject at least €10m of fresh capital, although it remains to be seen if this is a personal loan that must be repaid or if he is increasing the capital permanently.

Lazio released a statement this afternoon confirming the Covisoc (who measure the financial health of all Italian clubs) have removed their veto on signing new players.

That means fresh funds are available and they have already signed Pedro on a free transfer from rivals Roma this afternoon.

Official: Pedro leaves Roma for Lazio

The next buy is expected to be Basic, who has been waiting at Bordeaux for months until the situation was resolved.

Sportitalia are confident that deal will cost €10m plus bonuses.
