Serie B side Reggina have announced that Northern Ireland international Kyle Lafferty will have his medical and sign for the club tomorrow.

The centre-forward turns 33 in September and is a free agent after his contract with Sunderland expired.

A statement released by Reggina confirms Lafferty will arrive in Reggio Calabria today, have his medical tomorrow and then sign the contract.

He’ll be presented to the media on Saturday at the Stadio Oreste Granillo.

It is a return to Italy for Lafferty, who had a brief experience at Palermo in 2013-14, scoring 12 goals in 36 appearances.

Reggina just secured their promotion to Serie B and have already snapped up former Roma and Milan winger Jeremy Menez.
