Sampdoria have officially loaned Dawid Kownacki to Fortuna Dusseldorf with option and counter-option to buy.
“I am very happy that everything worked out in the end,” the 21-year-old told the club website.
“Fortuna contacted me very early in January and tried really hard to get the deal done, so I was determined to come here.”
The Poland international had turned down several other offers and was determined to join the German club.

It is officially a loan move with option to buy, but Samp retain a counter-option to bring him back in future.
Kownacki was picked up from Lech Poznan in the summer of 2017 for €4m.
He had fallen out of favour in recent weeks, but still scored two goals and provided one assist in 16 competitive games this season.
