“Beyond the titles won, the trophies and the triumphs achieved on the playing field during these nine years, Cristiano Ronaldo has been an example of dedication, work, responsibility, talent and improvement.

“He has also become the top scorer in the history of Real Madrid with 451 goals in 438 games. In total 16 titles, including four Champions Leagues, three of them consecutive and four in the last five seasons.

“On an individual basis, with the Real Madrid jersey he has won four Ballon d’Ors, two The Best, and three Gold Boots, among many other awards.

“For Real Madrid Cristiano Ronaldo will always be one of his great symbols and a unique reference for the next generations.

“Real Madrid will always be your home.”

Rumours began to emerge late last month that the Bianconeri were interested in signing the Portuguese, and while they were initially dismissed the story quickly gained traction.

It quickly became clear that a deal was possible, with Ronaldo agreeing on a €30m per season contract, which is expected to be partly financed by sponsorships.

Today CR7’s agent Jorge Mendes met with Real Madrid to hear whether the Old Lady’s offer had been accepted, while President Andrea Agnelli flew to Greece to greet the Ballon d’Or at his holiday resort.

Now it has sensationally been confirmed that Ronaldo will sign for Juventus, in the most expensive transfer in Serie A history.

Ronaldo joined Real Madrid in 2009, and incredibly has more goals than games played, having made 438 appearances and scored 450 goals.
