Juventus have officially hired Giuseppe Pompilio to act as right hand man to director Cristiano Giuntoli, reuniting the rapport they had at Napoli.

No formal title has been given to Pompilio yet, as the statement from the Turin club merely noted he will ‘work closely’ with Giuntoli.

They are already very familiar with each other, as they worked together for many years at Napoli and even Carpi before Giuntoli decided to walk away last summer for the new experience at Juve.

Pompilio had wanted to join Giuntoli in June 2023, but was blocked from leaving Napoli by President Aurelio De Laurentiis until his contract expired.

Giuntoli and Pompilio reunited at Juventus

Originally from Cosenza, Pompilio started working in the world of football for Alma Juventus Fano in 2007, but his career really took off when uniting with Giuntoli at Carpi.

Together, they helped the club earn a shock promotion to Serie A, then both moved to Napoli in 2015.

Another figure expected to join Juve is Stefano Stefanelli, currently director of sport at Pisa, who also worked with Giuntoli and Pompilio at Carpi and Napoli until 2021.
