Juventus have officially confirmed the extension to France international Adrien Rabiot’s contract with an announcement released via the club’s online platforms on Tuesday afternoon.

The 28-year-old, who could have walked away from Juve for free upon the expiry of his previous deal on June 30, has put pen to paper on a new one-year extension, which will tie him to the Bianconeri until the end of the 2023-24 season.

Rabiot had previously been reported to be open to new opportunities elsewhere, most prominently from Manchester United in the Premier League, but has now decided that his immediate future is best spent in Turin.

Rabiot joined the Old Lady from Paris Saint-Germain in the summer of 2019 and has since gone on to lift three trophies with the club, including the 2019-20 Serie A title, the 2020 Supercoppa Italiana and the 2020-21 Coppa Italia.

Since his arrival, no other Juventus player has registered more first-team appearances at Rabiot, who has turned out 177 times for the club, equal with veteran Juan Cuadrado.

A statement on the club website released on Tuesday afternoon read: “The story continues – after all there are still many roads to travel side by side and we are ready to keep running towards our goals together. Congratulations, Adrien!”
