The 31-year-old Spanish international flew in to Florence today for a medical and final talks over his contract.
“ACF Fiorentina and Malaga CF announce they have reached an agreement for the permanent transfer of Joaquin Sanchez Rodriguez,” read the statement.

The player has not yet put pen to paper on the contract, but it’s believed these are only details away from completion.
He made 45 appearances for Malaga this season, scoring eight goals between the Liga, Champions League and Copa del Rey.
He also has 56 caps for Spain in his career.
