Inter have officially announced the extension of their contract with coach Simone Inzaghi to June 2024.

This adds another year onto the two-season deal that had been agreed when he took over from Antonio Conte last summer.

The former Lazio tactician had an impressive debut season at San Siro, winning the Coppa Italia and the Supercoppa Italiana, reaching the Champions League Round of 16 and only missing out on the Scudetto on the final day of the campaign.

The news was confirmed in a video clip showing Inzaghi shaking hands with President Steven Zhang and signing the paperwork.

It’s reported Inzaghi’s salary has also been improved to €5m per season, which is still less than half what Conte was paid.
