Juventus announce Cristiano Ronaldo’s transfer to Manchester United is also on the Prosecutor’s radar as part of the investigation for false accounting.

The Bianconeri are under investigation for false accounting and have announced with an official statement that there is a new search order in relation to the case.

“The club announce to have received the notification of a new search and seizure order relating to the ongoing investigations by the Public Prosecutor at the Court of Turin against the club and some of its current (Andrea Agnelli, Pavel Nedved, Stefano Cerrato and Cesare Gabasio) and previous representatives,” the club’s statement read.

The allegations are the same ones revealed by the club over the weekend, but, Juventus announced, they also include the “permanent sales on the balance sheet as of 30, June 2021, relating the economic values of the sale of the player Dos Santos Aveiro Cristiano Ronaldo.”

“As already disclosed, the Company is cooperating with the investigators and with Consob and trusts to clarify any aspect of interest to it as it believes to have acted in compliance with the laws and regulations governing the preparation of financial reports, in accordance with accounting principles and in line with the international practice in the football industry and market conditions,” Juventus added.

Cristiano Ronaldo joined Manchester United from Juventus in a €14m deal in August 2021. The agreement comes with bonuses up to €8m.

Juventus registered a capital loss of €14m with Ronaldo’s return to Old Trafford.

“The search order does not change the investigative hypotheses of the previous measure notified on Friday,” Juventus lawyer Maurizio Bellacosa told ANSA.

Earlier last weekend, Juventus assured they were cooperating with investigators and were confident to clarify their position.

Many of their current directors have been questioned by the Turin prosecutor this week, including Maurizio Arrivabene and Giovanni Manna, the director of Juventus’ U23 squad.

Investigators are also looking into a ‘secret document’ agreed by Cristiano Ronaldo and Juventus and for this reason, they could soon question the striker’s agent Jorge Mendes.
