Inter prospect Lorenzo Pirola has officially completed a one-year loan move to Salernitana that could become a permanent transfer.

The 20-year-old Italian defender is considered to be one of the stronger prospects from the Nerazzurri youth system recently and he impressed last season on loan with Monza, helping them secure their historic promotion to Serie A.

As announced by Salernitana, Pirola has joined Salernitana on a one-year loan deal with a buy option attached, that also includes a buy-back clause. The buy option is understood to be worth around €5m, with the buy back set a little higher at around €8m.

On his Instagram page, Pirola underlined his excitement at the move, noting that he’s “happy and fired up for the new adventure.”

Last season, Pirola made 14 appearances for Monza, missing a large part of the first half of the season due to a knee injury. He bounced back and impressed, playing a key role in their play-off run.
